Every home has a place where the small things land — keys and coins by the door, rings by the basin, dried fruit set out when people come. This is a dish for that place.

It's cast in brass in Lahore, shaped as a leaf with its veins raised in the metal and finished with a wash of colour along the edge. At nine inches it's a catch-all that happens to be beautiful; in a pair, one of each colour, better still.
