A tray made for occasions — jashan means celebration, and this is the one you bring out when there's something to mark. This is its silver-plated finish, for when a table calls for silver over gold.
Twelve inches across, it's hammered by hand at the centre and cut into a border of flowers at the rim, then raised on small feet — worked in brass in Lahore and silver-plated to a bright sheen. Pile it with mithai and dry fruit for Eid, or leave it bare as a centrepiece — it carries both.
A celebration in silver, brought out year after year.
