The cutwork here is so fine it's hard to believe a hand did it — but it did, the way hands have pierced brass into lace across this region for generations. The shape is a leaf, sixteen inches of it.

It's made by hand in brass in Lahore, the whole body of the leaf opened into fine patternwork. Lay dates and dry fruit along it for guests, use it as a base for candles and small things, or lean it on a shelf where the cutwork shows against the wall. A long leaf is an unusual shape — that's the appeal.
