Why This Magic Keyboard Sleeve Exists: Designer's Insight

Michael Santoro
Founder & Chief Designer, MacCase
35 Years of Professional Design Experience

"Every detail on this sleeve exists for a reason: protection where it's needed, and nothing added where it isn't."

"When Apple introduced the Magic Keyboard, it solved one problem exceptionally well: turning the iPad into a highly capable productivity tool. What it doesn't solve is keeping it safe and protected during transport. The challenge is that while the keyboard protects the front and back surfaces, the edges, corners and exterior finish remain vulnerable. As a designer, I wasn't interested in creating another generic sleeve. The goal was to create an elegant, purpose-built solution that protects your iPad with the Magic Keyboard attached.  I wanted to protect the entire system: Your 13-inch iPad, Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil. It needed to do this while preserving the slim, professional experience that makes the iPad so appealing. This is our Zero Bulk Architecture in practice. Every detail on this iPad Pro Magic Keyboard sleeve exists for a reason: simple, quiet closure, integrated Pencil storage, protection where it's needed, and nothing added where it isn't."
