Simonnot-Godard is the oldest surviving French manufacturer of woven handkerchiefs, founded in 1787. Operating from their maison in France, they remain one of the last houses to produce handkerchiefs entirely by hand, working exclusively in the finest linen and cotton yarns. Their pieces are made in the traditional manner, on looms that have not changed in over a century, and they represent the highest standard of the form.

The Capelle is Simonnot-Godard's compact linen pocket square, cut at 27 x 27 cm — slightly smaller than the house's standard format, which makes it particularly well suited to a neater, more restrained presentation. Woven in 100% linen and handmade in France, the cloth carries the natural crispness and slight surface texture that distinguishes quality linen from cotton, providing enough structure to hold a fold cleanly throughout the day without stiffening.

The woven stripe pattern runs across the white ground in a tone-on-tone configuration, giving the square a quiet surface interest that reads as texture from a distance and as pattern up close.
