The Montecore Navy Wool Padded Overcoat is the classic overcoat with a serious upgrade. From the outside it reads exactly as a well-cut wool overcoat should, clean in its lines, considered in its proportions and entirely at ease over a suit or a casual outfit alike. On the inside it is a different matter entirely.

The outer shell is 100% wool in a deep, enduring navy, a fabric with the natural warmth, drape and surface quality that has made the wool overcoat the cornerstone of the winter wardrobe for the better part of two centuries. The construction keeps the coat looking exactly as a proper overcoat should, with a broad collar that sits with authority, slanted front pockets that give the coat a clean, uninterrupted front line, and a combination of button and zip closure that gives the wearer full control over how the coat is fastened and how much warmth is retained.

The interior is where the Montecore engineering becomes apparent. A 90% duck down and 10% feather padding lines the body of the coat, with an additional quilted front liner running from the collar down through the chest and stomach, the areas of the body most exposed to the cold. The result is a coat that performs like a padded jacket on the coldest days of the year while looking entirely like a classic wool overcoat from the outside. The melange brown buttons sit naturally within the navy palette, adding a considered, slightly traditional detail to a coat that is thoroughly contemporary in its construction. Made in Italy.
