Manos del Uruguay yarns are hand-dyed by women artisans working in cooperatives throughout rural Uruguay. Founded in 1968, Manos was created to provide rural women with meaningful work, income, independence, and opportunities within their own communities. The artisans themselves are owners of the organization, and Manos del Uruguay has been a member of the World Fair Trade Organization since 2009.
