COLOUR IN BRIGHTON!
Bring Brighton to life with this beautifully detailed A1 colouring poster, featuring a section of the hand-drawn Brighton Map by Sussex artist Malcolm Trollope-Davis.
The original Brighton Map took over a year to create and combines extensive research with detailed illustrations of the city. It includes points of interest, historical moments and an impressive level of geographical detail. The colouring poster gives you the chance to explore this intricate map in a completely different way.
As you start colouring, the buildings, streets and landmarks begin to stand out, revealing more of the map's detail as you go. It's a lovely creative activity for both children and adults, whether you're looking for a relaxing project, something to do together as a family, or simply a different way to discover Brighton.
Printed on 150gsm slightly off-white FSC-accredited paper, the poster is suitable for coloured pencils, crayons, pastels, chalks, paints and felt tips.
Once you've taken the poster out of the box and removed the tissue paper, leave it to relax overnight or longer. Then gently unroll it and place some books carefully along the edges to help flatten it.
Malcolm Trollope-Davis, co-founder of Lewes Map Store, grew up in and around the woodlands of the High Weald of East Sussex. After studying art at college, he went on to work professionally, creating illustrations for clients across a range of projects, from instructional and brand illustration to character design.
Malcolm prefers to work with tangible materials rather than relying solely on computers. Pencil and paper are central to his practice, and his sketchbooks are filled with curious characters, inventions and local scenes that continue to inspire his work.
