A small sterling silver Spitfire, modelled in plan view with the elliptical wings, tapered fuselage and tail fin that make the aircraft recognisable at a glance. Roundels in blue, white and red are set into each wing.
A tie tac sits differently to a slide. The pin passes through the tie and fastens at the back, holding the blade in place and leaving a single motif on show. Worn on a plain tie it reads as a quiet piece of character rather than an ornament, and it works just as well on a lapel.
It suits a man with an interest in aviation or a family connection to the RAF, and asks nothing more of him than a tie to wear it on.
