Application Rate
Always test your soil before applying. The amount needed depends on your current soil pH and the pH you are trying to reach.
Lawns, Turf & Pastures: Apply 10–15 lbs per 1,000 sq ft for each one-point reduction in soil pH.
Example: If your soil pH is 7.0 and your target pH is 6.0, apply 10–15 lbs per 1,000 sq ft.
- Do not make more than 3 applications per year.
- Wait at least 2 months between applications.
- Apply when the grass is dry.
- Spread evenly with a fertilizer spreader.
- Water thoroughly after application.
Landscape Beds & Gardens: Apply 10 lbs per 1,000 sq ft for each one-point reduction in soil pH. Apply beneath the plant canopy out to the drip line, then water thoroughly.
Important: Elemental sulfur works gradually and will not lower soil pH immediately. Retest your soil before making another application. Do not apply more than the label recommends in an attempt to speed up the process.
