These paperweights are built up in layers starting from the hillock on which the trees stand, up through the branches to the canopy. Finally, the whole sculpture is encased in a thick layer of clear glass. The sculpture is worked at between 800 and 1000 degrees Celsius on the end of a steel rod. The tree weight is then cooled slowly in a kiln for about two weeks.
We will select a piece in the same size but there will be pattern variations to the glass you receive. If you'd like a photo of the exact piece you will receive, please use our contact form or send an email to admin@lavaglass.nz.
