Support & Comfort for Your Dog’s Back Legs
This bundle includes two braces — one Balto® Flexor Brace and one Balto® Hock Brace — designed to help your dog recover from injuries or surgery, or just to give extra support for an active lifestyle. The Flexor is used post-surgery, allowing a slow reintroduction to mobility to one Achilles tendon or nearby ligaments; while the Hock provides bilateral support for the other back leg’s ankle to prevent injury from added strain.
When to Use This Brace:
Injuries to the Achilles tendons or hock joints
Joint pain, swelling, or arthritis
Weakness or wobbly ankles (hock instability)
Recovery after surgery
Sprains, strains, and muscle or ligament problems
Extra support for active dogs or older dogs with chronic issues
Flexor Brace Features:
Made with two lightweight metal splints for strong but gentle support
Adjustable hinge lets you control how much your dog can move their leg
Movement can be limited completely (great before or after surgery) or just a little (helpful during healing). See guide and video resources for adjusting.
Straps and padding can be adjusted to fit your dog’s leg just right
Hock Brace Features:
Three lightweight metal splints: two on the sides to limit side-to-side movement, and one in front that can be gently shaped for a better fit
Can also be worn without splints for dogs with arthritis or joint stiffness
Adjustable straps for a secure, comfortable fit on any size leg
Handwashable
Vet approved and preferred
Non-neoprene
All Balto® braces are made from high-quality materials, not neoprene, which is known to: collect bacteria, provide inadequate support, and wear down quickly. A variety of sizes ensure a secure fit. No pinching straps.
Recommended for all ages unless otherwise advised by veterinarians. Apply brace for balanced increments of time, if appropriate, for pets under the age of 2 to prevent possible growth disturbances.
