This octagon-shaped side plate is hand-painted by Kutani ware artist Yamada Yoshiaki, whose works reflect the quiet beauty of nature through the changing seasons. Building upon the traditional Kutani five-color palette, he has developed his own fresh color expressions, paired with meticulous brushwork carried through to the finest details. Available in several variations, each plate depicts birds perched among branches, accompanied by blossoms, leaves, or ripening fruit. An earthy brown border and softly scalloped edges add definition, beautifully framing each composition.

Designed with a gently raised rim, these side plates are ideal for sauces or for serving side dishes such as salads, braised dishes, or small accompaniments to a meal. A versatile addition to any dining setting, they are perfect for everyday use, special occasions, or as a thoughtful gift.
