The Guardian Cap® XT is the leading soft-shell football helmet cover engineered to help reduce the impact of repetitive head contact during practice. Designed to fit over existing football helmets, it adds a protective outer layer that helps absorb and disperse head impact forces while maintaining comfort and mobility.

Lightweight, durable, and easy to install, the Guardian Cap is trusted by youth, high school, college, and professional football programs nationwide.

Impact Reduction Technology: Adds a soft-shell protective layer to the outside of a football helmet to help absorb and disperse head impact forces from routine contact.
Trusted by the Best: Worn by athletes and teams across youth, high school and college football. More than 500,000 athletes have trained and competed with Guardian Cap technology, making it one of the most widely adopted football safety innovations in the game.
Lightweight Comfort: Weighs less than one pound to help maintain natural movement and comfort throughout practice.
Universal Helmet Fit: One-size-fits-all design attaches securely to football helmets using integrated snaps and hook-and-loop fasteners.
Quick Installation: Installs and removes in seconds without modifying or damaging the helmet.
Cooler Practice Sessions: Helps reduce radiant heat from direct sunlight, keeping helmets cooler during hot-weather training.
Protects Helmet Finish: Helps shield helmet shells and decals from scratches, scuffs, and everyday practice wear.
Built for the Demands of Practice: Provides additional cushioning during player-to-player and player-to-ground contact common in football drills and practices.

Warning: No helmet, headgear, or chinstrap can prevent or eliminate the risk of concussions or other serious head injuries while playing sports or otherwise. Researchers have not reached an agreement on how the results of impact attenuation tests relate to concussions or other injuries. No conclusions about a reduction of risk or severity of concussive injury or other injury risk should be drawn from impact attenuation tests. All headgear and chinstraps must be used along with properly fit and maintained helmets.

Legal: Permitted by the NFHS.

All Schutt and VICIS helmets worn in practice or games with a properly installed Guardian Cap remain fully certified and warrantied, provided they comply with applicable league regulations and are used at the discretion of players, parents, or coaches. Guardian and Certor are proud to partner in protection.

*Guardian Caps that are compressed, torn, or broken should not be assumed to have the same reduction in impact as a new Guardian Cap.*
