Ensure your soil, growing media, compost, dry fertilizers, and liquid inputs are clean, safe, and fully compliant with our Heavy Metals Lab Testing Service, conducted in partnership with Cannabis ChemLab. Using ICP-MS (Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry) technology inside an ISO:17025-accredited laboratory, this comprehensive screen delivers ultra-precise, trace-level detection to protect plant health, consumer safety, and regulatory compliance.
Key things we want you to know
Laboratory Testing Highlights
Testing Partner: Cannabis ChemLab (ISO:17025 Accredited)
Methodology: Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS)
Accepted Sample Types: Soil, living media, compost, dry amendments/fertilizers, plant tissue, irrigation water, and liquid cultivation inputs.
Primary Analytes Tested
Heavy metals accumulate through soil, irrigation water, and nutrient inputs—disrupting microbial balance, inhibiting plant development, and risking regulatory rejection. We screen for the four major toxic heavy metals:
-
Arsenic (As): Inhibits root development and nutrient uptake; poses severe human health risks.
-
Cadmium (Cd): Accumulates rapidly in plant tissue, leading to stunted crop productivity and severe physiological toxicity.
-
Lead (Pb): Persistent environmental neurotoxin often introduced via contaminated soil amendments or water sources.
-
Mercury (Hg): Persists in root-zone ecosystems, disrupting soil microbial communities and root cell function.
How to Take & Submit Your Sample
-
Collect Samples: For solid inputs (soil, compost, dry amendments), gather sub-samples across multiple areas and combine them in a clean container. For water or liquid inputs, collect in a clean, sealed container.
-
Mix & Package: Transfer your representative sample into a sealable Ziploc bag or leak-proof bottle, clearly writing your sample name on the outside.
-
Sanitize Sampling Tools: Clean probes, scoops, or containers with RO water between different samples to prevent cross-contamination.
-
Print Submission Form: Print and complete the sample submission form sent to your email after checkout.
-
Package & Ship: Place your labeled sample and submission paperwork together in a secure box and ship according to the checkout instructions.
