The inside of this vessel is natural, uncoated copper, so it will start to darken from its very first contact with water. This is not a defect. It is exactly how genuine copper behaves, and it is how you know you are not using a plated, coated or mixed-metal product. Copper reacts naturally with water and air to form a thin layer called patina. Patina is simply a form of copper itself and is not harmful to your health. Within a few weeks the inside settles into an even, antique finish. To bring back the shine whenever you like, rub with lemon and salt (or vinegar and salt), rinse well and dry. If you ever notice green spots, the vessel was left wet too long; clean it the same way and let it dry fully.
Our authentic Copper Water Carafe is handmade by artisans in India.
FOR USE WITH PLAIN WATER ONLY. DO NOT USE FOR ANY KIND OF ACIDIC SUBSTANCE OR LIQUID.
Hammered to perfection from a single sheet of lab-tested 99%+ pure copper, this carafe comes with its own cup, allowing you to maintain the integrity of the copper water. Keep it at your bedside table or at your desk at work, and enjoy water stored in copper all day long.
Capacity: 1 litre
Carafe is crafted from a single sheet of 99%+ pure copper, lacquered on the outside to protect the surface and give it that rich glow. The inside is left natural, allowing the copper to infuse with the water for that unique, refreshingly healthy taste.
Lab-tested for safety: lead and cadmium were below detection limits when an accredited government lab tested our copper drinkware to FDA leaching limits. View the FDA test report (PDF) or see all our lab reports.
The absence of machine-made perfection is a hallmark of the craftsmanship of our artisans, honing their skills and passing them down to the next generation. No two Copper Carafes will be the same. This artistic quality, alongside our excellent customer service, is why we have had the long-standing trust of customers worldwide
Copper, like Iron, is an essential trace mineral necessary for survival. It is found in all body tissues and plays a vital role in making red blood cells, helping the body absorb iron, maintaining nerve cells, and boosting the immune system.
Copper Deficiency can cause serious health issues.
Since our body does not synthesize copper, we need to include it in our daily diet. Copper infused water is a natural way to give your system its daily copper requirement.
Ayurveda, the world’s oldest holistic healing system, recommends Copper infused Water to balance the 3 Doshas – Vata, Kapha and Pitta.
Ayurvedic copperware has centuries of tradition behind it, and one part of that tradition has been tested in a laboratory: what copper does to bacteria in stored water.
Stick to plain water for best results. Acidic beverages pull extra copper from the metal, so keep your Kaarigar carafe filled with water only.
