About The Artist: Thomas Leitner was an Austrian landscape painter noted for his atmospheric style and sensitivity to light and nature.  During World War I he served as a war painter. Leitner’s work often merged the tradition of Austrian “Stimmungsmalerei” with elements of natural symbolism; his landscapes are distinguished by delicate color, thin but expressive brushwork, and strikingly moody skies.
