Built for Heavy Rain
The Pacific Poncho is a new take on the waxed-canvas rain poncho, designed for warm climates and serious wet weather. The main body is cut from one continuous piece of 8oz waxed canvas, with no body liner to keep weight and bulk down. At 100cm long by 130cm wide, it gives generous coverage without turning into an overbuilt cold-weather coat.
Protection Without the Bulk
Three brass side snaps on each side let you close the poncho down and form sleeves when the weather turns rough, while the front YKK AquaGuard® zip provides easy access with water-resistant zip performance. The newly designed Storm Hood adjusts at the front and rear for a closer fit, with a shaped peak to help move rain away from your face. When conditions clear, the hood rolls away neatly using the built-in hood tidy tab.
One-Piece Shoulder Build
The Pacific’s defining feature is its shoulder construction. Instead of joining separate panels with seams across the shoulders, we use an in-house folding system to shape one continuous piece of 8oz waxed canvas around the body. This removes seams from a high-exposure area while creating a double layer of canvas over the shoulders for added rain and abrasion protection. The integrated rear storm flap helps shed more water, while brass snaps are mounted through leather washers for added longevity.
Made to Stay Useful
Waxed canvas is made to be used, marked and maintained. Over time it develops creases and character, and the finish can be renewed with Jack Stillman Fabric Wax when needed. The hood’s rear adjustment system is deliberately exposed rather than buried inside the construction, making it easier to access if repair is ever required. Internal button loops are also built in to accept removable liners planned for the Pacific system, extending its usefulness beyond the original configuration.
Ready for the Wet
At 1.5kg and rolling down to roughly 33cm x 12cm, the Pacific is made to pack away, come out when the sky opens and get hung up wet when the job is done. The rear nylon hanging loop works with the hood tidy tab for easy drying after use. Available in Desert, Jungle and Black, it’s a straightforward piece of weather gear built to earn its place in your kit.
