The Audo Copenhagen Plinth Pedestal lifts a single object into the light, assembled by hand from five marble plates, mitered and joined so the seams vanish at the corners. Marble has a low refraction index, which lets light sink a few millimeters into the stone before it scatters back out, giving the piece a soft inner glow instead of a hard shine. Norm Architects designed it for Audo Copenhagen, part of the wider Plinth collection.
Five stones: Nero Marquina, Grey Kendzo, Carrara, and Calacatta Viola marble, or Kunis Breccia, each sealed to protect the surface. Marble is a natural material, so the veining shifts piece to piece; the shape and quality hold steady no matter which stone you choose.
