This is a user-replaceable Lithium Ion battery for the Light Rail bike light bar. 

We believe in a customer's right to repair. While we've taken care to design the Light Rail to preserve the longevity of the battery, it's still a part that will eventually degrade under normal usage. 

The factory-installed battery should last for several years of heavy use, but be prepared for anything with this replacement that you can easily install yourself.
