The resort brochure promised sun, sand and an all inclusive escape, and technically it delivered on two out of three before things went sideways on the beach. Musky seaweed and salty sea breeze roll in off the tide, meeting vanilla warmed orange, cedar and sandalwood drifting up from the abandoned cabana bar further inland. Briny and warm rather than rotten, this outbreak scene leans coastal and woody instead of decayed, paradise that's clearly been overrun but hasn't entirely lost its resort charm.
