The BattleTech: Core Rulebook from Catalyst Game Labs is the new core rules reference for classic BattleTech, released in 2026 alongside the BattleTech Starter Box and Core Box. It succeeds Total Warfare as the main rulebook and rebuilds the rules for movement, combat, terrain, and battlefield support into a modern, easier-to-follow order.

A new Missions section lets players build forces quickly, pick a mission, and get a game on the table, from a quick skirmish to a large engagement. The rules were finalized after about six months of public playtesting and work with previously released BattleTech maps, miniatures, and nearly all published record sheets, so existing collections stay in play.
