- Slim profile: Long, low-profile housing tucks easily into cabinets, coves, and tight junction spaces, reducing layout headaches for electricians and cabinet builders.
- Smooth dimming: Delivers stable, flicker-free dimming with many common wall dimmers, ideal for kitchens, display cases, and accent lighting.
- Sized right for longer runs: 60-watt output is well-matched to medium to longer 12V strip runs, avoiding the bulk and cost of oversized power supplies.
Engineered by HitLights for residential and commercial projects, this slim series electronic driver delivers smooth, flicker-free dimming when paired with a standard in-wall dimmer. It is ideal for under-cabinet lighting, coves, shelves, display cases, and other low-voltage accent lighting installations.
- 12V DC, 60W (5A) output for single-color LED strip lights
- Full-range 0–100% dimming with compatible wall dimmers
- Slim linear housing to fit in tight spaces and enclosures
- UL Listed Class 2 and FCC compliant for safety and reliability
The driver accepts 120 VAC input (108–132 VAC, 50/60 Hz) and converts it to a regulated 12V DC output up to 60 watts for LED strip loads. Efficiency is ≥84% at maximum load with a power factor around 0.96 and THD ≤20%, helping reduce wasted energy and electrical noise. Integrated protection against short circuit, over-voltage, and thermal runaway supports long-term reliability in demanding installations.
Unlike non-dimmable plug-in adapters, this unit is hard-wired and compatible with many forward-phase and reverse-phase dimmers, including popular models from Lutron and Leviton, allowing lighting control from a standard wall location.
The slim enclosure (approx. 11.8 x 1.2 x 0.7 in) fits easily in cabinets, junction spaces, and other dry interior locations. With working humidity from 20–90% non-condensing and a temperature range from roughly -40°C to +60°C, it is suitable for a wide range of indoor environments.
A 6-year warranty provides additional peace of mind for integrators, contractors, and homeowners planning long-life LED installations. Designed for single-color 12V LED strips, this driver is an appropriate choice when a compact, dimmable, UL Listed Class 2 60W power solution is required.
WHAT'S INCLUDED:
- 1 × 12V 60W S-Series Slim Dimmable LED Driver, UL Listed Class 2
Q: What is this 12V 60W slim dimmable LED driver used for?
A: It is a 12V DC, 60W electronic Class 2 driver designed to power and dim single-color 12V LED strip lights in indoor installations. Typical uses include under-cabinet lighting, cove lighting, shelving, and other accent lighting controlled from a wall dimmer.
Q: What are the input and output specifications for this driver?
A: The driver accepts 120VAC input (approximately 108–132VAC, 50/60Hz) and provides a regulated 12V DC output up to 60 watts, or 5 amps of current. This rating is suitable for medium-sized runs of compatible 12V single-color LED strips.
Q: Which dimmer switches work with this 60W S-Series driver?
A: It supports forward-phase and reverse-phase dimming, including Triac, MLV, and ELV dimmers. It is listed as compatible with many Lutron models (such as Ariadni, Diva, Skylark, Nova T) and Leviton models (such as Mural, SureSlide, ToggleTouch, Vizia), allowing installers to match common dimmer families.
Q: How do I connect this driver to power and LED strip lights?
A: For AC input, connect the black wire to live (hot), white to neutral, and green to ground. On the low-voltage side, connect the red output lead to the positive terminal of the LED strip and the blue output lead to the negative terminal, following standard low-voltage wiring practices.
Q: Can this driver be used outdoors or in wet locations?
A: No. The driver is rated IP20 and is intended only for dry, indoor environments. For outdoor or wet-location installs, a waterproof driver with an appropriate IP rating is required.
Q: Does this driver work with RGB or multi-color LED strips?
A: No. The S-Series 60W driver is designed for single-color 12V LED strips only. RGB or multi-channel strips require a compatible RGB controller between the driver and the LED load to manage color channels.
Q: What protections and certifications does this driver have?
A: It includes built-in protection against short circuit, thermal runaway, and over-voltage to help safeguard both the driver and connected lights. The unit is UL Listed as a Class 2 power supply and is FCC compliant, aligning with safety and EMC requirements.
Q: What are the dimensions and warranty for this 60W slim driver?
A: The enclosure measures approximately 11.8 x 1.2 x 0.7 inches, making it easy to conceal in cabinets, valances, or junction areas. The driver carries a 6-year manufacturer warranty for residential and commercial LED strip lighting projects.
