Skinner’s dovetail slot scope/optic mount is a replacement rear sight that fits into a standard 3⁄8″ dovetail on many lever-guns (Henry, Marlin, Rossi, etc.) and provides a small integral dovetail / Weaver-style base for attaching an optic.

• It does not provide a drilled-and-tapped receiver like a true Picatinny rail; it’s a dovetail mount that ends up acting like a tiny Weaver/Picatinny rail.

• limited to red dot sights that can be mounted to a Weaver/Picatinny rail, or those that are small enough to work on that little section of rail without excessive leverage.

• Larger pistol footprint optics (e.g., RMR, RMSc etc.) usually don’t mount directly to this unless you use some kind of adapter plate and adapters on such a short rail can be unreliable.
