Pink Icing® Blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum ‘ZF06-079’) combines ornamental foliage with large, sweet blueberries. Spring leaves blend shades of pink, blue, and deep green, bringing interest to patio plantings and garden beds before the summer harvest.
Picture a compact blueberry near your outdoor seating area, with colorful new growth to enjoy and ripe berries to pick in season. Its mounded form offers an edible-garden option where a full-sized blueberry would take up too much room.
Pink Icing® is self-pollinating, so a second cultivar is not required. Bushel and Berry notes that additional plants may enhance fruit quality and production. If adding another variety for cross-pollination, choose one with compatible bloom timing for your region.
A 2-Pack contains the same listed variety, not a mixed-cultivar pollination pair. Crop size depends on plant maturity, chill, sunlight, pollinator activity, and care; fruit at delivery or a first-season harvest is not guaranteed.
Listed nursery sizes are 2 Gallon and 3 Gallon, with Single and 2-Pack options. Select from the combinations offered in the options menu. Gallon labels refer to nursery-container sizes, not mature dimensions or guaranteed delivery heights.
Use a growing container with drainage holes and adequate root space, then reassess pot size as the shrub develops. Container plants need closer moisture and pH monitoring than established in-ground plants. Plan winter root protection where needed; an in-ground zone rating does not guarantee survival in an exposed pot.
Before new spring growth, feed as needed with an appropriate acid-loving-plant fertilizer at the label rate. Remove dead or non-fruiting wood selectively to support growth and berry production, rather than repeatedly shearing the shrub into a formal shape.
Choose Pink Icing® for a compact edible shrub that pairs colorful foliage with summer blueberries when its sunlight, acidic-soil, and winter-chill needs are met.
