Originally designed in the 1970s by De Pas, D’Urbino, Lomazzi, Sciangai transforms the everyday coat rack into a playful yet highly functional design object. Inspired by the game of pick-up sticks, its solid ash wood poles are connected by a simple steel grommet mechanism that allows the structure to open and close with ease. Both sculptural and practical, Sciangai brings flexibility, warmth, and personality to entryways, offices, and living spaces. Its innovative simplicity earned the Compasso d’Oro Award in 1979, cementing its status as an icon of modern Italian design.
