A bold pattern from Deborah Jean Cohen’s In the Loop: Radical Potholder Patterns & Techniques book, the Shadow Aztec pattern uses simple color placements to create the illusion of depth and movement. This technique, known as shadow weaving, plays with light and dark contrasts so the pattern almost seems to shift as you look at it.

There are very few potholder patterns available in shadow weaves, making this one a standout.
