The tidal pool at Walpole Bay is a little pocket of calm on the Margate shoreline, where the water barely moves and the light changes every time you look. This necklace takes its cue from there. A smooth rectangular pendant frames a panel of iridescent shell that picks up soft colour and reflection as it moves, a bit like looking down into the pool on a bright morning.
It's clean and minimal, the kind of piece you put on and forget to take off. Wear it on its own or layer it with finer chains. Stainless steel with a PVD gold finish means it's waterproof and tarnish-resistant, so a swim, a shower or a slick of suncream won't dull it.
It's designed by Isobel at And Danu, who grew up on the Kent coast and makes jewellery to be worn in the same sea that inspires it. It comes in her signature vegan suede pouch, ready to keep or give.
