Overview
The Rider No.62 Low Angle Jack Plane has the weight and sole length to handle a wide range of planing tasks. It is a true all-rounder for dimensioning and flattening, and with a fine setup it will smooth as well. The low cutting angle and extra weight make it an excellent plane for end grain, cutting cleanly through the fibres and taking fine shavings. Increasing the bevel angle on the blade gives you even better control over tear-out.
Designed and developed by professional woodworkers in the UK, the No.62 takes its cues from classic planes and updates them for real workshop use. It is simple to set up, easy to adjust and satisfying to use.

Why Choose the Rider No.62?
If you only have room for one bench plane, a low angle jack covers the most ground. The No.62 is long enough to flatten, heavy enough for end grain and fine enough to smooth. The upright maple tote on the angled casting keeps your push going down into the cut, so it stays controlled through longer passes.
