Red Melon Sword | Echinodorus barthii

The Red Melon Sword is a beautiful aquarium plant that's perfect for adding a pop of red to your planted tank! This sword has broad leaves with gorgeous red and green coloration that really stands out, especially under higher lighting.

They're pretty easy to maintain once established, but they do prefer medium lighting to help bring out their best colors! They'll still grow under lower lighting, but you may notice more green in the leaves.

Like other sword plants, Red Melon Swords are heavy root feeders, so we recommend using a nutrient-rich substrate or root tabs to help keep them happy and growing! Since these plants can get pretty big, they're a great option for the midground or background of larger aquariums.
