Jungle Val is a hardy, easy-to-grow aquarium plant that's a great choice for beginners and experienced hobbyists alike. Its long, ribbon-like green leaves create a lush, natural background and can add tons of height and movement to an aquascape.
Jungle Val spreads by sending runners along the substrate, allowing it to gradually fill in large areas of the aquarium. These runners can also be separated and replanted in other areas of the tank.
After being introduced to a new aquarium, some older leaves may melt or die back while the plant adjusts. Keep an eye out for new growth, which is a good sign that the plant is establishing itself.
Plant the roots into the substrate while keeping the crown of the plant above the substrate. Burying the crown too deeply can cause the plant to struggle or rot.
Jungle Val is a root feeder and can benefit from a nutrient-rich substrate or root tabs. As the plant becomes established, it will begin sending out runners that can develop into new plants and create a dense, grassy background.
Most plants are sold as trimmings from rooted plants unless otherwise stated. All trimmings will be at least 3" in height unless otherwise noted.
