Java Fern Lace

Java Fern Lace is a twist on the classic Java Fern with more textured, lace like leaves. It's an extremely hardy plant that's easy to care for, making it a great option for beginners or anyone looking for a low-maintenance plant.

Like other Java Ferns, this plant grows from a horizontal rhizome. The biggest thing to remember is do not bury the rhizome! You can bury the roots while leaving the rhizome exposed, or attach the entire plant directly to driftwood or rocks.

Don't panic if some of the older leaves start turning black or dying back after being added to your tank. Java Ferns can produce baby plants directly from their leaves, so you may start seeing tiny new plants growing from those older leaves over the next few weeks.

Planting Java Fern Lace

Do not bury the rhizome in your substrate. Only the roots should be buried, with the rhizome left exposed. You can also attach Java Fern Lace to driftwood, rocks, or other aquarium decor and allow the roots to naturally grab on over time.

All plants may contain snails or snail eggs. We keep them in all of our tanks for the benefits they provide.
