Christmas Moss gets its name from its triangular fronds that grow in a pattern that looks a lot like tiny Christmas tree! Once it starts filling in, it creates a really cool textured look that works great on driftwood, rocks, or other aquarium decor.
This is an easy moss that doesn't need high lighting or CO2, so it's a great option for beginners and low-tech tanks. It is a slower grower, but give it some time! Regular trimming can help keep it thick and encourage the shape you're looking for.
And of course, we LOVE moss in shrimp tanks. All of those little branches create tons of extra surface area for shrimp to graze on while giving baby shrimp plenty of places to hide.
Christmas Moss doesn't need to be planted in substrate. Attach it to driftwood, rocks, or other aquarium decor and let it slowly grow in. You can also trim and relocate pieces as it grows to spread it throughout your aquascape.
All plants may contain snails or snail eggs. We keep them in all of our tanks for the benefits they provide.
