Java Fern Narrow Leaf, scientifically known as Microsorum pteropus Narrow and is a great plant if you want something easy to care for that still looks really good in your aquarium. It's similar to regular Java Fern but has longer, thinner leaves that give it a really cool look, especially when attached to driftwood or rocks.
Like other Java Ferns, Narrow Leaf Java Fern is a slow-growing, hardy plant that does well in low to medium lighting. It's a great choice for beginners because it doesn't need CO2 or a bunch of extra care to thrive.
One important thing to know is that Java Fern should NOT be buried in the substrate! Instead, attach it to driftwood or rocks using aquarium-safe glue or thread. The thick stem that the leaves grow from, called the rhizome, needs to stay exposed or it can rot.
Java Fern Narrow Leaf also makes a great addition to shrimp tanks and peaceful community aquariums. The leaves provide extra hiding spots for fish and shrimp while giving your tank a nice, natural look.
Please Note: Please do additional research on your plant to ensure its health.
Plants may contain snails or snail eggs. We keep them in all of our tanks for the benefits they provide.
