The Gripzilla Dynamo is an adjustable wringing trainer for grip, wrist and forearm strength. You twist the two handles in opposite directions, the way you'd wring out a towel. Friction resistance on each handle loads the forearm flexors on one side and the extensors on the other in every rep, across all 20 forearm muscles. Think of it as an adjustable wrist roller with no weights, no rope and no gravity: the resistance comes from two tension knobs, one per handle.

Key facts

  • What it trains: grip strength, wrist strength, twisting (torque) strength and forearm endurance. It loads all 20 forearm muscles, flexors and extensors together.
  • How resistance works: two independent tension knobs set the friction on each handle. Turn a knob for more or less resistance. There are no weights or springs.
  • Movement: the handles rotate 360 degrees on one axis. You can do two-handed wringing, horizontal and vertical twists, and one-handed work.
  • Resistance range: from very light, for recovery days, up to high tension for maximum strength work.
  • Setup: none. It's ready to use out of the box and comes apart for travel.
  • Handles: knurled anti-slip handles, thick enough to challenge large hands and comfortable for smaller ones.
  • Construction: aviation-grade aluminum.
  • Weight: about 1.76 lb (800 g). Light enough for a gym bag, a desk drawer or a carry-on.

What's in the box

  • 1 Gripzilla Dynamo, assembled and ready to use

Three ways to use it

  • Recovery (low tension): gentle twisting for early rehab days, sore wrists and older hands.
  • Training (moderate tension): daily sessions for grip stamina and the forearm pump.
  • Strength (high tension): maximum grip torque for lifters, arm wrestlers and athletes.

Who it's for

  • Lifters whose grip fails before the target muscle on pulls, rows and carries.
  • Athletes in grip and swing sports: golf, tennis, pickleball, baseball, climbing, arm wrestling, martial arts and BJJ.
  • People with wrist or elbow pain who want a gradual, low-load way to strengthen. Speak with your physician or physical therapist about any condition.
  • Anyone who wants a quick daily forearm routine at a desk, at home or while traveling.

How to set the resistance

Turn each knob to set that handle's tension. The knobs have no numbers, so match the two sides by feel: Low twists under a light three-finger grip, Medium needs a full fist, and High barely moves even with a full fist.

What customers say

  • "like a wrist roller but better" (Matthew B., verified buyer)
  • "This is a real piece of gym equipment. Not cheaply made at all." (Matthew B., verified buyer)
  • "I use it for about 5 minutes per session, with the 40/20 sec work/rest cycle." (Francis C., verified buyer)

Individual experiences vary.

FAQ

Is the Dynamo a wrist roller?
It does the same job as a wrist roller, training wrist flexion and extension under load, without the rope, the weight plate or the shoulder fatigue. The resistance is friction, so it stays the same in both directions and you set it with a knob instead of changing plates.

How is it different from a rubber twist bar?
It uses the same towel-wringing movement as the twisting exercises in published elbow rehabilitation protocols. A rubber bar comes in fixed resistances, so you buy a new bar to progress. The Dynamo adjusts on each handle, from very light to very heavy.

How is it different from the Gripzilla Tornado?
The Dynamo rotates on one axis with a wringing motion. The Tornado has two ball joints, so it also trains the wrist through side-to-side, rotational and circular movements and adds finger-specific exercises. Many customers start with the Dynamo and move up to the Tornado.

Can I use it with tennis elbow or wrist pain?
Many customers do, starting at low tension for short sessions. The Dynamo is fitness equipment, not a medical device, and it does not diagnose or treat any condition. Ask your doctor or physical therapist before using it with an injury.

How long are sessions?
Five minutes is enough. A simple routine is 40 seconds of twisting, 20 seconds of rest, for several rounds, a few times a week.

Is it covered by HSA or FSA?
You can pay with HSA or FSA funds through Truemed at checkout, subject to your plan's eligibility.

What's the guarantee?
Every order has a 30-day satisfaction guarantee from the date of purchase. Email info@gripzilla.co first, with photos or a short video if something seems wrong. It's a new kind of tool with a short learning curve, so we'll help with a setup tutorial, a workout routine or a replacement, often with no return needed. If a return is still the right call, the item goes back in its original packaging, with return shipping paid by the buyer.

How long does shipping take?
US orders usually arrive in 2 to 5 business days. International orders usually take 5 to 20 business days, depending on location.
