Acrylic on canvas in natural oak frame

43 × 53 cm

Without Asking is part of the Nevertheless series, where Amy Kim reflects on growth that happens instinctively and without permission. The layered, flowing forms suggest movement that unfolds naturally — unplanned, intuitive, and quietly determined.

Set against a shifting field of colour, small blooming shapes appear without announcement, echoing the way resilience often emerges in our lives not through intention, but through necessity. This work speaks to the quiet courage of continuing, the kind of becoming that happens simply because it must — without asking.
