And while authentic Scottish woolens are wonderful, this Japan-woven cloth is crafted from 100% cotton and fares far better as shirting. Soft to the touch with a satisfyingly hefty drape, it still looks the part, just without the woolen itch.
This iteration takes its cues from classic Scottish tartan, updated with a muted navy ground and warm, earthy tones. Large-gauge, 2-ply yarns lend the fabric its substance and warmth, while a three-step brushing process increases insulation and softness while coaxing out the fuzzy, dimensional texture we associate with traditional tweed.
