Nobody sets stones this way, which is precisely why German Kabirski did. The rough rubies here are turned on their edges and pressed sideways into a wide band of sterling silver, uncut and unpolished, showing the part of a stone the trade normally keeps out of sight. Black rhodium plating pulls the metal dark, so the reds sit in it like seams of ore still in the rock. Wide, heavy, and impossible to overlook.
Dire is for the ones who go against the grain by default — who find the accepted version of things a bit thin, keep their freedom in permanent use, and treat art as the argument rather than the decoration. If you've never much liked doing it the correct way, you've been found.
PLEASE NOTE: This piece is made with rough gemstones left exactly as mined — uncut, unpolished, untreated. Cracks, inclusions, uneven colouring and irregular shapes are not flaws but markers of the stone's natural origin.
