Field Notes Summer 2026 “Paletas” C includes green, white, and red/orange covers inspired by colorful frozen fruit treats. Each 3.5 × 5.5 in pocket notebook has 48 cream-colored dot-graph pages and is made in the USA.

Are Field Notes Fountain Pen Friendly?

Field Notes notebooks are designed first and foremost for practical, portable everyday use. Ballpoint pens, rollerballs, mechanical pencils, pencils, and fine-tip pens are especially well suited to them.

Fountain pen performance varies by edition, paper, ink, nib width, and ink flow, so we do not recommend treating Field Notes as a dedicated fountain-pen notebook. Fine and medium nibs may work well on many editions, while wetter combinations can show feathering or bleed-through. Expedition's synthetic Yupo paper is not suitable for fountain pens.
