The Field Notes “Lucky” Spring 2026 edition takes inspiration from the classic American penny. This collectible 3-pack includes three 3.5 × 5.5 in pocket notebooks with 48 ruled pages, copper-foil details, and three distinct cover colors.

Are Field Notes Fountain Pen Friendly?

Field Notes notebooks are designed first and foremost for practical, portable everyday use. Ballpoint pens, rollerballs, mechanical pencils, pencils, and fine-tip pens are especially well suited to them.

Fountain pen performance varies by edition, paper, ink, nib width, and ink flow, so we do not recommend treating Field Notes as a dedicated fountain-pen notebook. Fine and medium nibs may work well on many editions, while wetter combinations can show feathering or bleed-through. Expedition's synthetic Yupo paper is not suitable for fountain pens.
