A small kit to make your first cake with.
Say it's your daughter's birthday on Saturday and you've decided this year you're making the cake yourself. This is the set for that. It's small enough that you're not nervous about wasting ingredients, and big enough to feed the table. And it builds tall. The form takes a cake up to 8 inches high, so your first one can be the proper, tall, bakery kind, not a flat one. It serves 8 to 10 at 4 inches high, or 16 to 20 if you build it the full 8 inches.
You bake your sponge, fill the form, put it in the fridge and go and do something else. When you come back you peel the liner off and the sides are already smooth. You never stand over it with a scraper trying to get it even. You go straight to the fun part: the colour, the piping, the candles.
The palette knives and the Frost Finisher are for that part. Spreading, lifting, the sharp edge along the top. That edge is what makes someone look at it and ask if you bought it.

Yes. You don't need a steady hand or any experience. The form does the smoothing, so your first cake looks like your tenth. If something's a bit off you'll see why, and the next one's better.
"Seemed complicated at first but turned out really easy. Made a few mistakes but knew where I'd gone wrong. Very happy how my cake turned out." Fiona T.
You won't. Once the first one works, you start saying yes to cakes. The 5" is the one people buy to see if they can, and then they come back for the sizes they need.
"Bought the 4" to see if I liked it. Will now be buying the 6, 8 and 10." L A Tobin
Yes, when it's the right consistency. Firmer buttercreams like Swiss meringue work best, ganache too, and the kit comes with a guide so you get it right first time.
"I use the Swiss meringue buttercream recipe which is really easy to use. Frost form really works, the results are amazing." Isla T.
For a birthday at home, yes. 8 to 10 slices at 4 inches high, 16 to 20 at the full 8 inches. If you're feeding more than that, start with the 6".
