The Altra Experience Wild 2 is a low-drop, cushioned trail running shoe for groomed trails, daily miles and day hikes. Quick and unfussy, it keeps the vibe fast when the path starts winding through the trees.

Who the Experience Wild 2 is for

For runners who want a smooth roll and confident traction on everyday trail runs. Lightweight compression-moulded EVA foam delivers responsive cushioning, rocker geometry encourages an efficient toe-off, and the MaxTrac outsole grips on mixed terrain. A breathable mesh upper with a new eyelet dials in the midfoot, a reinforced TPU toe overlay shrugs off rocks and roots, and the integrated GaiterTrap makes it easy to add a trail gaiter.

Most runners find it true to size with a very roomy toe box, though some find the instep snug. Want the latest version? The Experience Wild 3 moves to Altra EGO P35 foam with a redesigned heel collar.
