The Outdoor Research Helium UL Jacket for men is an ultralight waterproof running and hiking jacket that packs into its own chest pocket. Outdoor Research calls it the next-gen evolution of the Helium Rain, built for fast trail miles, travel days and everyday wear.

Stuff it in your vest for mountain runs, long hikes and trips where the weather is a coin toss. It is light and breathable, with a wire-brim hood and a Hood Lock that cinches excess fabric so it works with a helmet. Toray Dermizax 2.75-layer fabric is fully seam-taped and windproof, with YKK Aquaguard zips sealing out rain.

The standard cut leaves room to layer underneath. Shopping for her? The women’s Helium UL Jacket adds high hand pockets. Coming from the Helium Rain Jacket? The UL is lighter, more breathable and more durable, with the same packable spirit.
