Combining the JHS Morning Glory V4 and NOTAKLÖN circuits in a compact vertical enclosure, this dual overdrive offers flexible routing, independently accessible I/O for each side, and four gain stages available from two footswitches.
Use the main input and output for conventional series operation, with the centre Order toggle selecting which circuit comes first. Alternatively, the individual FX input and output jacks allow each side to function independently: insert other effects between the circuits, place each side in a separate loop-switcher loop, or use them as two individually routable overdrives sharing one enclosure and power supply.
The Morning Glory side is JHS’s take on the Marshall Bluesbreaker circuit, offering low- to medium-gain overdrive with a selectable high-gain mode. The NOTAKLÖN side recreates the original Klon-style voicing, with the selectable Shamrock Mod adding gain, midrange and a further hard-clipping stage.
Each circuit has its own Red Remote jack for remote control of its onboard gain toggle. A Red Remote, or any compatible latching amp-style footswitch, can switch these modes remotely. Switchers with amp-control outputs can also control the toggles directly.
Controls
NOTAKLÖN — Left Side
-
Volume: Sets output level.
-
Gain: Sets the amount of overdrive. Fully counter-clockwise provides a clean boost, with up to +16 dB available in conjunction with the Volume control. Increasing Gain also increases midrange content.
-
Treble: Treble boost and cut control; noon is neutral.
-
+/- Toggle: Activates the Shamrock Mod, adding +4 dB of gain, increased midrange and an additional hard-clipping stage. Down retains the original Klon-style voicing.
Morning Glory V4 — Right Side
-
Volume: Sets output level.
-
Drive: Sets gain level; increasing the control also adds brightness.
-
Tone: Adjusts overall brightness.
-
Gain Toggle: Engages high-gain mode when switched up, indicated by a red LED. This introduces an additional gain stage, with more gain, a slight volume increase and a fuller sound.
-
Bright Cut Switch: Recessed switch on the right side that reduces the highest frequencies for brighter rigs.
-
Order Toggle: Selects which circuit comes first when both sides are used in series. The toggle points towards the effect that is first in the chain. It has no effect when using the individual FX jacks.
Connections
-
Main Input / Output: Far-right input and far-left output for standard two-in-one pedal operation.
-
Individual FX I/O: Separate input and output jacks for each circuit, allowing independent routing, insertion of other effects between circuits, or separate loop-switcher operation.
-
Red Remote Gain: 1/4" jack for remotely switching the Morning Glory Gain toggle.
-
Red Remote +/-: 1/4" jack for remotely switching the NOTAKLÖN +/- toggle.
