North Sonar Speed V2 Stabilizer – S178v2 & S208v2
The North Sonar Speed V2 is a high-speed rear stabilizer built for riders pushing hard on faster front wings. It's designed for maximum speed while still giving you the pitch stability you need for powered riding, like wing foiling and kite foiling at full tilt.
The foil sections are tuned to be most efficient in the mid-to-high speed range. A dihedral rondure (the tips angle upward when viewed from the front) gives the V2 a more locked-in feel than the flatter original Speed stabilizers, which builds confidence when you're powered up and driving hard upwind.
Construction
The Speed V2 is made from high modulus carbon pre-preg for a stiff, direct response. Its thin profile sections cut drag while the material keeps the stabilizer rigid and structurally sound. Like all Sonar stabilizers, it mounts on top of the fuselage, which keeps it out of the front wing's turbulence and gives you an early warning on a breach, since the stabilizer reaches the surface first.
Which Size?
- S208v2 – the larger option, with a bit more front-foot pressure and support. A good match for mid-size high-speed front wings.
- S178v2 – the smaller option, with less drag and front-foot pressure for the fastest, most agile setups with smaller front wings.
In general, a larger stabilizer adds front-foot pressure and stability, and a smaller one reduces it for a looser, faster ride.
