3' x 5' polyester Uruguay Flag with two grommets, double-stitched top and bottom edges, and a triple-stitched fly edge to reduce fraying.
✍️️ The Design: The national flag of Uruguay, known as the Pabellón Nacional, was officially adopted on July 11, 1830. The layout features nine alternating white and blue horizontal stripes representing the nation's nine original departments. In the upper-left canton sits a white square with the golden Sun of May (Sol de Mayo) featuring 16 alternating straight and wavy rays, symbolizing independence, sovereignty, and the May Revolution of 1810.
Days of Celebration: The flag is flown across the country on Independence Day on August 25 and Constitution Day on July 18. It is also prominently displayed on Flag Day (June 19), which honors the birth of national hero José Gervasio Artigas.
