Multiple sizes of polyester United States Virgin Islands Flags with two grommets, double-stitched top and bottom edges, and a triple-stitched fly edge to reduce fraying.
✍️ The Design: The official flag of the United States Virgin Islands was designed by naval officer Percival W. Sparks and officially adopted on May 17, 1921, following the US purchase of the territory from Denmark.
The design features a white field centered with a simplified American bald eagle. On its chest sits a shield styled after the United States Seal. In its talons, the eagle holds a laurel branch symbolizing peace and three blue arrows representing the territory's three major islands: St. Thomas, St. John, and St. Croix. The central emblem is flanked by the blue letters "V" and "I" for Virgin Islands.
Days of Celebration: The flag is flown across the territory during Transfer Day on March 31, commemorating the official 1917 handover from Denmark. It is also prominently displayed on Virgin Islands Emancipation Day (July 3) and D. Hamilton Jackson Day (November 1).
