Properly cared for, a leather dog leash should last a lifetime.

To keep it looking brand new, regularly clean your dog leash leather with leather cleaner. 

Allow to dry fully, then rub in a leather conditioner or cream. This helps diminish the appearance of scratches and prevent cracking. 

After swimming or if a leather leash is submerged in water, remove it from your dog and allow it to dry in a cool location out of direct sunlight. Wipe and condition as needed after it has dried.
