Tee kit if the stove connects into the chimney through a wall thimble, since the tee gives you a clean-out at the base. Insert connector if the appliance connects straight up from its top, which is the usual insert setup.
Measure the flue from the top of the chimney down to where the appliance connects, then add a couple of feet of slack. Ordering short is the expensive mistake here.
In most cases yes, and many jurisdictions require it. Insulation keeps flue gases hot, improves draft, cuts creosote, and is often needed to hold listed clearances in an exterior chimney.
Match the liner to your appliance outlet. A 6" stove or insert takes a 6" liner. Going undersized chokes the draft and going oversized cools the flue gases and builds creosote faster.
The tee kit has a tee at the base, used when the stove connects through a wall thimble into the chimney. The appliance connector kit connects straight up from the top of an insert or stove with no tee.
In most cases yes, and many codes require it. Insulation keeps the flue gases hot, improves draft, reduces creosote, and is often required to maintain listed clearances in an exterior chimney.
