A sand timer is the simplest way to keep track of a session without carrying a phone or a watch into the heat. The sand runs for 15 minutes, a comfortable length for a round on the bench, and the black finish gives a quiet, contemporary look against pale timber cladding. There is nothing to power and nothing to fail, so it stays reliable season after season.
